Overview
Replacement screw hardware for iPod Photo (4th Generation). Use it when original screws are missing, stripped, damaged, or lost during service. This part does not fix electronics, storage, audio, display, or control faults.

What Is Included
In the box: the internal screws for one iPod photo, and a plastic pry tool. Not in the box: screwdrivers. This body needs two of them — a T6 Torx for the logic-board and headphone-jack screws, and a small Phillips for the three screws that hold the headphone-jack assembly to the rear panel — and neither is supplied. No backplate, faceplate, bracket, adhesive or cable is included.

How to open the iPod 4th Gen and iPod Photo
Tools: Plastic opening tools, one wide and one thin, Plastic spudger, T6 Torx and fine Phillips (#00 or PH-000) screwdrivers, Anti-static wrist strap or mat, Soft cloth and a small tray, Wall charger
- Unplug it, switch it off and lock HoldDisconnect any cable, charger or computer first. Switch the iPod off by holding Play/Pause until the screen goes dark, then slide the Hold switch to locked, so its orange bar shows.
- Know where the clips areNothing is screwed shut. The white front snaps into the steel back with five tabs down each long side and two clips on the bottom edge, one either side of the dock connector. Both models are built the same way here, so they open and close alike.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will a screw set fix electronics symptoms?
No. Screws are passive fasteners for reassembly. Diagnose power, storage, audio, display, and control faults separately.
What tools do I need to install these screws?
Two drivers, not one. A T6 Torx driver takes the logic-board screws (five on this model, six on the monochrome fourth generation) and the two silver screws on the headphone-jack board; a small Phillips driver takes the three silver screws that hold the headphone-jack assembly to the rear panel. Neither screwdriver is included with the screw set. Keep each screw with the hole it came from and start every screw by hand — laying them out in the pattern they came from is the habit that prevents a screw going back somewhere it does not belong.
Is this an iPod Classic?
Apple's 'Classic' branding started with the 6th Generation (2007). This is the color-screen iPod photo / iPod with color display generation, not a Classic-branded model.
